Harrods.com introduces its new Harrods Launches initiative - a platform to showcase exciting new design talent each season.

Manjit Deu and Iris van Herpen - graduates of Winchester School of Arts and London College of Fashion, and ARTEZ Academy of Arts in Arnhem respectively, are the latest talents to note for spring/summer 2010.

"We are constantly seeking out innovative yet commercial collections. Each London Fashion Week we're always impressed by the ingenuity and ideas displayed and I'm thrilled that this new initiative will help launch the careers of young designers," says Marigay McKee, Harrods' fashion and beauty director.

"More than ever our customers want unique pieces from under-the-radar labels that they will not see everyone else wearing," adds McKee.

Each season, Harrods will add to the line-up.

I am very excited about this news since harrods is an internationally well renowned depoartment store where you can get anything in most lavishing manner, but I felt that Harrods was for tourists and wealthy madams for a long time.
However, this new scheme works well for talented young designers as well as Harrods to be more exciting and cutting edge shopping destination. I believe this is a parfect match for young creativity and established business.
