Satoshi Date

Untold is a collaboration of emerging designers and artists launched in 2007 as a partner event to the London Design Festival. The initiative has since grown rapidly and holds events alongside fashion week as well as the Design Festival.

All the designers and artists within the collective have in common the struggle of venturing into the dark depths of the design world. The Untold mission is to create a platform accessible for all artists and designers to announce their talent and work to their audience. Untold is already in its 6th season and enforces the notion of encouraging the quality of the work over payment constraints. The collective is encouraged to work together with a shared goal and to pool experiences and knowledge to further the group’s success. The Untold initiative includes fashion, textiles, accessories, art and photography.

Saffron Knight

Untold Design CIC is a not-for-profit community interest company, with participation costs kept low to be accessible to all. Untold creates a community for the designers, encouraging collaborations and setting-up events and activities to build upon the collective. The collections for the shows are selected fashion, jewellery, accessories and textiles pieces that have been created through designer collaborations, and have been inspired by creative and non-conventional methods. The photography, prints and artist collaborations create a themed presentation evoking feeling and culture, with the aim of taking the viewer on a journey.

Last season, Untold had a very successful show alongside London Fashion Week and again this season will be holding a similar catwalk and static exhibition. The Autumn Winter Show will be held in the Battersea Arts Centre on the 22nd of February from 1pm, with the catwalk show being held at 7pm, with an after show from 8pm.

It will be held in the Grand hall of the Battersea Arts Centre, making for a very grand occasion rivalling many of the London Fashion Week catwalks. This season, rumours are that the collective will be bringing us a theatrical ambience and a quirky and quaintly historic feel.

Saffron knight

Entry to the Pop-up Shop and Boutique is free, whilst there is a £5 fee for the Catwalk show. Designers and artists will include Svetlana Lukyanovich and Mary Ononokpono, with success stories from this initiative previously including Saffron Knight, showing at London Fashion Week this season, and Satoshi Date.

Untold are always keen to encourage students and graduates to get involved through work experience.
